According to its own statement, 3shape currently supports the VDDS interface for the TRIOS scanner to a limited extent:

Since Dental Desktop Version 1.7.0.0:

• VDDS (PMS) - Patient data taken over: only ID; Name; First name; DoB; Gender
• VDDS (IMS) - Image data replied: only 2D data

Update 21.12.1021: In the current Dental Desktop version, the patient ID is not transferred via VDDSmedia!

Workaround for patient data transfer to Dental Desktop
Use of the command line interface of DentalDesktopCmd.exe as a third party program in OnyxCeph³:

1. In the OnyxCeph³-System options→External programs create and activate a tool DentalDesktop.
   
2. Activate Start program / Open file.
   
3. Enter beneath File: C:\Program Files\3Shape\Dental Desktop\Plugins\ThreeShape.PracticeManagementIntegration\DentalDesktopCmd.exe (Check path)
   
4. Enter beneath parameters: -patientid=%0 -firstname=%3 -lastname=%2 -integrationid=%0 -birthday=%4 -merge

The patient can thus be transferred from OnyxCeph³ to DentalDesktop by means of Go to → DentalDesktop.

Workaround for scan transfer to OnyxCeph³™
Since using TRIOS scans in OnyxCeph³™ requires an active export in an open 3D file format, the simple image import interface is still recommended for TRIOS users for this purpose at the moment.

Since OrthoAnalyzer-Version 18.0.0:

• VDDS (PMS) - Patient data taken over: only ID; Name; First name; DoB; Gender
• VDDS (IMS) - Image data replied: does not work in a reproducible way
